Why We Long for the Opposite | Yara Daccache | TEDxAIS Ajaltoun Youth
Why do we always crave what we don't have? Whether it's the clothes we wear, the friends we choose, or the relationships we build — we often find ourselves drawn to the opposite of what we are or what we own.In her TEDxAIS talk, Yara Daccache explores the psychology behind this phenomenon, diving into why “opposites attract” and how this craving for contrast shapes our decisions and identities. Backed by well-known experiments — and maybe even one of her own — this is a talk that will make you rethink your everyday choices.Stay tuned. Opposites might just make perfect sense. As a person I've noticed that everything I get, I always imagine what I would be to have the opposite: it could be about things I buy, bout the specific decisions I've made, the personality of the friends I choose, about relationships. So I decided to choose this topic and talk about the psychological reasons that a person tends to crave the opposite of what they have, or the reasons that they crave for they opposite of who they are (when it comes to social life), including the concept of "opposite attract". so I'll be presenting some known experiments that explains the subject, and I also wanted to include a small stimulation of my own but I still haven't exactly what it will be yet.
