Most of it actually happened, and even some of it is verbatim. The comic is set in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and then moves to Moorhead, Minnesota, and eventually western North Dakota. She then went on to the University of North Dakota where she studied Visual Arts and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and received additional education in Moorhead, MN.Amanda married Daniel El-Dweek in 2013 and moved to Williston, ND at the height of the oil boom in the Bakken. In 2015, Dan was appointed to a judgeship in McKenzie County, so they moved to Watford City, ND.Amanda lives with her husband, Dan, and their (gigantic) cat, Ric Flair. In addition to her work as a cartoonist, Amanda also works as the Administrative Assistant for Epiphany Catholic Church in Watford City and Our Lady of Consolation in Alexander. In her free time, Amanda enjoys painting, playing arcade games, pinball, and generally housework. Aynı yılda radyoculuğa başlayarak onlarca istasyonda yayın yaptı. Şu an Power FM’de dinleyicileriyle buluşmaktadır. 2010 yılından itibaren Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi’nde iletişim, sunum teknikleri ve beden dili üzerine dersler vermektedir. Televizyon kanallarında 1996 yılından itibaren çeşitli programlar hazırlamıştır. 2002 yılından bu yana tek kişilik oyununu 100’den fazla sahnelemiştir. Geveze, 2011 yılında Rol grubuyla birleşerek KUMA grubunu kurdu. 2005 yılında kurulan ‘Fazla Mesai’ adlı orkestrasıyla 600’den fazla konser vermiştir. Hikâye kitapları bulunan Geveze, 2004 yılından itibaren farklı karma sergilerde yağlıboya resimleri ve fotoğrafları sergilenmiş; aynı zamanda gitar, davul, klavye ve saksafon gibi enstrümanlar çalmaktadır. Speakers of other languages struggle when moving to a country with a language that they don’t speak. Misinformation, feeling left out, confused, or overwhelmed, as well as other language barriers, can make people feel unheard in their own communities. Mirianny, an English language learner, faced all of these challenges when she first arrived. While she was able to overcome them, many others still face the same obstacles. After going through a journey of acceptance and growth, she now feels empowered to share her story and support others who are trying to find their place in a new community. Hi, my name is Mirianny Beltre Bobe. I’m a student at Sleepy Hollow High School, currently transitioning from 11th to 12th grade. I’m someone who stays actively involved in my community in many ways. I use my voice to speak up as a member of the Student Equity Team and the Student Advisory Committee. I also share my perspective and personal journey through leadership roles, like leading the ENL Ambassador Club and participating in the Safe School Ambassador program. These experiences—along with many hours of community service—have helped shape me into the open, outgoing person that I am. As a first-generation Hispanic student from the Dominican Republic, I’m passionate about using my voice and story to shine a light on the challenges non-English speakers face, including language barriers, exclusion, and culture shock. Mary-Soledad Gracia, or just Mary as she is known to her community and peers, is a first-generation immigrant born in Uganda. She is a distinguished student at Ossining High School and a proud member of the Class of 2028. In 2024, Mary was elected by her peers as Student Body President. She is actively involved in the Model United Nations club and attended the National High School Model UN Conferences in New York City earlier this year. She is also a member of the Science Olympiad and Student Council, and she is looking forward to joining the Engineering club in the next school year as well as running for president in the following years. In this TED Talk, Mary confronts the internal and external barriers faced by dreamers today, boldly asserting that you don’t need permission to succeed. She is committed to Duke University, where she plans to major in neuroscience and seek opportunities to explore neurodegenerative disorders in children. Still, her passion for the humanities shines through her love of visual media. In her free time, Trinity balances light-hearted, “mind numbing” movies and films that invite deeper analysis.
