How to build inclusion | Ashley Parker | TEDxOlentangy Liberty Youth
In her TEDx talk, special needs teacher Ashley Parker shares how teaching inclusion starts with modeling empathy and respect from a young age. She explains how simple, everyday interactions can help children understand and embrace differences. Drawing from her classroom experiences, Ashley shows how inclusive education benefits all students, not just those with special needs. Her message is clear: when we teach kids to value every voice, we build a kinder, more understanding world. Ashley Parker is an Intervention aide at the school. In this role, she provides support to students who need extra assistance with educational and life skills. She has been in this career field for 10 years, with 6 of those years spent in the Olentangy school district. Ashley is fortunate to have not only graduated from Liberty High School but also to have returned as a teacher. Throughout the years, she has gained valuable insights both as a student and as a teacher, and she is excited to share what she has learned. Your Blood Platelets Serving Regenerative Medicine :More than 2,000 years ago, Hippocrates declared: "the body contains within itself the power to balance the humors and heal itself." He couldn't have been more right! In this talk, Jérémy Magalon explains how your blood platelets can be used to alleviate pain associated with knee osteoarthritis. He uses the metaphor of car tire wear to illustrate the phenomenon of cartilage degradation and how and why blood platelets could delay the need for a metal prosthesis, which is often proposed to the most severe patients as a replacement for the joint. His talk pays tribute to the inspirations that have accompanied his professional journey and led him to pursue a scientific and entrepreneurial quest to make the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) credible and accessible! It beautifully highlights "point of care regenerative medicine", which uses the patient's own cells for healing, and which he considers one of the therapeutic options in the great revolution of biotechnologies applied to health that we are currently experiencing! - 18:07Brain Implants – Blessing for patients – Superpowers for all? | Martin Schuettler | TEDxFreiburgImagine a world where the loss of abilities does not mark the end but rather the beginning of something greater. A world where people with paralysis can walk again, and the blind can regain their sight. But it doesn’t stop there: in this world, we can not only recover lost functions but also acquire new abilities—superpowers we’ve only seen in science fiction movies. At the end of his electrical engineering studies, Martin Schüttler (*1972) became interested in neurotechnology. After completing his diploma thesis and doctorate in this field at the Fraunhofer IBMT and postdoctoral stays in England and Australia, he joined IMTEK in Freiburg in 2005, from where he co-founded CorTec in 2010 with the aim of developing implantable brain-computer interfaces and making them available to patients.
