When lawyer, lecturer, and entrepreneur Taís Bahia began questioning the version of success society tells us to pursue, she uncovered a more authentic way to live. As she prepared to shift careers and move from Brazil to China, the pandemic forced a pause, leading to deep self-reflection. What followed was a bold solo journey across 13 countries. Solo but never alone, Taís met people who inspired her to rebuild from the inside out. In this talk, Taís shares personal insights and challenges us to rethink success, reminding us that embracing our uniqueness and chasing our own dreams may be our most radical and rewarding achievement. Taís is the founder and CEO of Xianzai现在, a Ph.D. candidate at Peking University, and a Corporate/M&A lawyer. With over a decade in Brazil-China relations, she leads education and gender equality initiatives within the Brazilian Bar Association and other institutions. Anya is here to show us how defeat can actually be character development. Anya is a 12-year old student in year 7 studying at Regent's International School Bangkok. Being raised in Bangkok with a Thai family who highly values resilience and personal development, Anya developed the virtues of confidence and determination. From an early age, her perseverance and effort were rewarded. She was offered opportunities to enhance her interests of public speaking and leadership from as young as the age of 5, such as: securing the role of the primary head girl in year 6. Her other passions include various sports such as basketball and football. She trains hard for her preferred sports and consistently strives for enhancements in her performance.
