Dr. Anderson describes the horrors of the things she has seen and dealt with, but also highlights the beauty and strength that have come from these things. Dr. Anderson is a proud member of the Sewickley Academy Class of 2004 and recipient of Sewickley’s Academy Award. Dr. Anderson graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University with bachelor’s degrees in both Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Spanish. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the California Institute of Technology where she investigated the behavior of microparticles in Martian conditions. Jackie went on to work for The Boeing Company for five years as a Project Engineer and Stress Analyst for the Chinook helicopter. While at Boeing, she also became an EMT and conducted her postgraduate studies at Villanova University and Thomas Jefferson University. Jackie earned her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Jefferson Northeast, where she became a Chief Resident during her fourth year of training. It's no secret that being a professional athlete requires tremendous skill and dedication. Mr. Walker discusses the importance of discipline and how it has allowed him to become successful in his career. Neil Walker is a former Major League Baseball player from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Raised in a baseball family, with his father Tom Walker a former MLB pitcher, Neil attended Pine-Richland High School, where he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first round of the 2004 MLB draft, after receiving offers from Pitt and Penn State to play both baseball and football. Neil played for the Pirates, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, Miami Marlins, and Philadelphia Phillies during his 12-year career, earning the 2014 Silver Slugger Award. He retired with 149 home runs and 609 RBIs. Now a radio and TV broadcaster for the Pirates, Neil lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and children.
