Saudi Theater Commission launches its Work and Learn Project in UK
Saudi Gazette report
LONDON — The Theater and Performing Arts Commission announced the launch of the third edition of the Work and Learn International Track project, selecting 25 theater trainees to attend a four-week training program at Production Park in London from April 21 to May 16, 2025.
The project aims to develop their practical skills in artistic fields such as lighting, sound, set design, costume design, and theatrical performance management. It aims to foster local talent by integrating it with international expertise and introducing them to advanced, global techniques through working on shows that utilize modern technologies.
The training program will conclude with a comprehensive theatrical performance performed by the trainees, both male and female, in collaboration with the production team.
This is a practical step toward applying what they have learned in an experience that combines training and production. This initiative is an extension of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission' strategy to empower national talent, develop the sector's infrastructure, and transfer the latest international practices and expertise to the local market.
This will enhance the competitiveness of Saudi theater and enable trainees to acquire the modern skills required by the labor market in the fields of theater and performing arts.
The Theater and Performing Arts Commission is concerned with all types of performing arts: theater, dance, circus performances, improvisational comedy, street performances, movement performances, ballet, and opera. It’s also includes activating theaters, ensuring the quality of the content presented, encouraging abundant production, and spreading the culture of performing arts so that it becomes a fundamental component of national culture.
Production Park, the industry-leading hub where global tours are rehearsed and productions brought to life, is making its most significant investment yet with a major expansion of its facilities. By 2025, the campus will grow to a remarkable 145,000 square feet of state-of-the-art studio space, solidifying its position as the largest production studio campus in the North of England.
