Political Activist and Feminist, who served as the Secretary-General of the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW), 2014 –2022, and Senior Social Affairs Officer, UN ESCWA, 2022 – 2024.
She is a Gender equality, inclusive development and WPS Expert and a Board member of Ahli Microfinance since 2021.
Dr Nims holds a PhD. in Development Planning (2004) and MSc. in Sustainable Development. Since 2004, she has provided policy reform advisory and consultancy services to several governments and international organisations.
During her tenure as the SG of the JNCW, she led the development and adoption of Jordan’s National Action Plan on WPS, which is globally recognized by the UN Secretary General WPS report as a best practice. She also led the development of the National Strategy for Women in Jordan 2020-2025, and was fully aligned with the SDG2030.
