Emotional sustainability | Michal Matloň | TEDxTrencin
What does sustainable architecture mean from the perspective of people and human emotions? The things we build today (and those built in the 20th century) are not particularly liked by most people, and they don’t form an emotional connection with them. If we want to build things that people will protect and cherish for 500 years, we need to turn to psychological insights on how to make them “emotionally sustainable.”
Michal is an architectural psychologist who helps create spaces for a good life and meaningful work, from offices to urban districts. In the past, he worked for one of the largest European office developers and a consulting firm founded by cognitive scientists from the University of Vienna. Michal is also the co-founder of the Venetian Letter newsletter, which focuses on human-centered and science-based architecture and urbanism.
