From Story to Impact | Sarah Ziegler & Simon Straetker | TEDxFreiburg
As a director and camerawoman, Sarah Ziegler (30) combines a passion for film and photography with the aim of telling inspiring stories that can move people and bring about positive change. With roots in the Black Forest, she is adventurous by nature and loves travelling outdoors. She studied Media Cultural Studies, Spanish and Biology at the University of Freiburg. She now works at the film production company Black Forest Collective in Freiburg as a director for documentaries and commercials.
Together with other young people, she founded the association ‘Wild Europe e.V.’ in 2019. Together, they travelled through Europe and discovered wild, unspoilt places where endangered animal species and plants still have a sanctuary. They capture these natural wonders on camera and make them accessible to a wider audience. Their great passion is climate and environmental protection.Simon Straetker is a filmmaker and social entrepreneur known for crafting visually stunning films about nature, human rights, and adventure.
