Bringing together African styles with soul, world music, and poetry—curated by Mistah Isaac—this year’s performance featured: Abolaji Collins (guitar), Jackson Azarias (bass), Emílio Lobo (drums), Andre Castaman (sax), Caio (vocals), Mistah Isaac (vocals and guitar), Gari Sinedima (vocals), and Huba (vocals).
Wako Kungo is a platform for independent and alternative musicians, offering them the opportunity to showcase their work and artistic expressions. Founded and curated by Mistah Isaac, the collective emerged as an evolution of the Wako Kungo Sessions—a concept he created in February 2022. It is a space of complete creative freedom—safe and unrestricted.Gari Sinedima is an Angolan singer and songwriter who won the 2023 “Best Troubadour of Luanda” award – Cantar Antônio Agostinho Neto, organized by UNAC-SA (the National Union of Artists and Composers). He blends African styles with soul and world music.Caio is 23 years old and has always lived surrounded by music. He began singing at the age of three and never stopped. Raised in Sintra, immersed in nature, and drawing on the rich cultural background of his mother—who was a teacher in Angola—he aims to share his art and inspire everyone around him. Gürses began her media career as a reporter at ATV News Center and later appeared on programs such as "Gece Hattı" and "Kırmızı Koltuk" on Star TV. She worked as an editor and presenter on programs such as "20. Saat", "13 Agency", "Bıldıgın Gibi Değil" and "Burası Haftasonu" on Habertürk TV. She served as assistant news director and on-screen presenter on the "Ana Haber" program on Kanal 1. He enjoys learning and is always looking for opportunities to meet new people. He is a budding photographer, as well as being an avid reader and also working on paper-craft, namely quilling. He values his academics and his extra-curricular, which is why he practices badminton and cricket. His favorite subject areas include math, science, and history.
