Healing the World through Environment and Us | Jiya Luniya | TEDxSSVM Youth
In a world driven by rapid advancement and digital connection, we often overlook the deeper healing that comes from restoring our relationship with the planet and with one another. This talk explores how environmental care and human connection are not separate efforts, but interconnected paths to lasting change. Through small, intentional acts—acts of sustainability, empathy, and collaboration—we can begin to repair what’s broken within ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. True healing begins with us, and by nurturing both the earth and our relationships, we pave the way for a more compassionate, resilient, and united future.
Jiya Luniya is a 13-year-old student from SSVM who is passionate about singing, public speaking, and dancing. While she may not consider herself an artist, she is an aspiring dancer with a strong academic record. Beyond her creative and intellectual pursuits, Jiya is deeply committed to the idea that healing the environment begins with healing ourselves. She embraces challenges as opportunities for growth and finds joy in expressing herself through music, movement, and words. When she’s not performing or speaking in front of a crowd, she can often be found lost in a book, as reading is one of her greatest passions. For Jiya, personal growth and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. She believes that small, individual efforts can lead to meaningful change in the world. While she may not claim to be an expert, she is eager to share her ideas and inspire others through platforms like TEDx, hoping to contribute to a better future for everyone. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdfAlberto Mattiello talks about how the human-machine relationship is the key to the future of humanity: understanding it means evolving. Starting from the three human brains – reptile (instinct), Libycus (emotions) and Cortex (reason) – he will explore how machines are following a similar but inverse path: from the intellect of language systems to the empathy of affective computing, up to the physicality of robotics. This journey reveals not only risks and biases, but above all the opportunities of a world where every technology will have a personality, transforming the way we live and work.
