Sustainability and Agriculture: Making the Choice | Loganne Mason | TEDxSHSU

Loganne Mason, third generation agriculturist, shares her perspective on keeping our food systems sustainable. With only a small portion of the U.S. population being directly involved in production agriculture, Loganne’s talk offers new perspectives on how farmers and ranchers are feeding the population while caring for the planet. Loganne Mason grew up on a cattle ranch in southeastern Colorado. She has spent her life in agriculture both in production and advocacy. She spent a gap year before college working as a State Officer for the Colorado FFA Association, where she advocated for production agriculture daily at the CSU Spur campus in the Commerce City area of Denver, Colorado. Loganne now studies Animal Science with a focus in pre-veterinary medicine at Sam Houston State University. She has a passion for animal agriculture and helping others understand the industry that she and her family have been involved in for generations. After her time at SHSU, Loganne hopes to attend vet school to become a mixed-animal veterinarian. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
