Courage is the foundation of Happiness | Ashok Rathod | TEDxYouth@HFSInternational
Happiness thrives when courage leads the way - courage to take action, break barriers, and create opportunities for those who need them most. This talk focuses on the transformative power of providing underprivileged kids access to education and football, offering them hope and a chance to rewrite their future happiness. Ashok Rathod, founder of the OSCAR Foundation, empowers underprivileged children through football-based life skills programs. Growing up in Mumbai’s Ambedkar Nagar slum, he witnessed many children leave education for work, some falling into harmful activities. Motivated to make a change, Ashok founded OSCAR with a simple rule: attend school, and you can play football. Over the past decade, he has helped 25,000 children stay in school, teaching teamwork, leadership, and resilience through football. OSCAR has also trained 1,000 youth leaders and facilitated 140 international trips, opening doors for new opportunities. Ashok’s work has earned awards like the CNN-IBN Real Hero Award and fellowships with Ashoka Youth Venture and Acumen. Supported by global organizations such as FIFA Foundation and Manchester City FC, Ashok continues to inspire young people to break free from poverty and become community leaders. - 14:40How I finally discovered myself in midlife | Supriya Nagpal | TEDxFIIB WomenI wasn’t literally born late, but I discovered my true passions only in midlife. For years, I followed a path shaped by others’ expectations, prioritizing practicality over joy. Growing up in a small town, unconventional paths seemed out of reach. But as life’s routines settled, I found space for reflection, and my long-buried passions resurfaced. Midlife offers a unique perspective, allowing us to understand what truly matters. It’s not too late to embrace our dreams; sometimes, we’re more prepared to pursue them when they find us. Life’s timing, even in midlife, can reveal new opportunities for growth and fulfilment. - 18:53The art of being invisibly visible | Deepali Wilson | TEDxFIIB WomenThe art of being “invisibly visible.” Is a philosophy which has transformed the way I parent, mentor, and live. It’s especially meaningful as I circle midlife—a phase often seen as a crisis but, in reality, a time full of opportunity. Midlife, for me, is like that tea break during a long road trip. You don’t stop traveling, but you pause to refuel, check the map, and pick the perfect playlist for the journey ahead. It’s not about slowing down but refocusing and rediscovering what truly matters for you in your life.
