- 16:16EFU: Embrace, Forgive, Unite to Turn Conflict Into Possibility | Kathleen Durham | TEDxAjijicEFU: It's not just a catchy and perhaps uncomfortable phrase. It stands for Embrace, Forgive, and Unite. It's a framework for transformation. And it's a process that can take you from conflict to possibility. Kathleen led an organization dedicated to Eleanor Roosevelt and was inspired by Eleanor's teachings, leading to her "aha" moment. She learned from Eleanor's life, and her own, that we need to choose to Embrace the sometimes harsh realities of the world that we live in. We need to Forgive others, and ourselves, for the pain and fears of the past, and not let the past define our future. Who do you need to forgive? Not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace. And we need to Unite the aspects of ourselves that we have chosen to embrace and forgive. By acknowledging and accepting our imperfections and the difficulties of the lives we have lived, we transform self-criticism into self-acceptance , allowing us to honor our past without being confined by it. Join Kathleen and explore the transformative power of EFU, and moving from an existence of conflict to a future of possibility.Kathleen Durham’s mission is to help people and organizations find and use their sweet spot for giving back and standing for world peace through personal and organizational development. She practiced Business and Employment Law in California and New York. As the former Executive Director of the Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill in Hyde Park, New York, Durham promoted leadership training as practiced by Eleanor Roosevelt in the areas of social justice, human rights, and socially conscious leadership. Durham served on a number of non-profit boards in New York andGeorgia and believes service is the “rent you pay for your space on earth.” Kathleen has been recognized for her leadership and service. In 2017 she received the prestigious Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal and the Athena International Leadership Awards Presently she is the author of a biweekly Substack post called Hola Mrs. Roosevelt, It’s Me!
