I Wasn’t the ‘Right’ Body Type — But I Made It Anyway | Neole Anna Cornelio | TEDxNHCE

In this heartfelt TEDx Talk, athlete Neole shares her deeply personal journey of resilience, body image struggles, and self-acceptance through the lens of Kintsugi—the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. From being body-shamed despite her achievements to becoming an international athelete, Neole reveals how she turned her perceived weaknesses into strengths. Now pursuing sports psychology, she’s on a mission to help other athletes embrace their true selves and break harmful stereotypes. Neole Anna Cornelio is a rising Indian sprinter, excelling in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay. She has represented Karnataka over 15 times, earning multiple national medals, including a silver at the 22nd National Junior (U20) Federation Athletics Championships with a time of 12.14 seconds. Her personal best of 11.89 seconds showcases her potential for international success. Training under Ms. Bindu Rani Gowda at Sri Kanteerava Stadium, Neole’s dedication and resilience drive her forward. She aims to break the 11-second barrier and inspire young athletes to pursue their dreams. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
