Creators and Consumers | Atul Sabharwal | TEDxSIU Lavale
In the dynamic between creators, consumers and storytelling is at the heart of connection. Creators rely on imagination and personal experiences to craft narratives that evoke genuine wonder and emotional resonance. By tapping into these elements, they can create meaningful stories that resonate deeply with consumers. The art of narration is about capturing the human experience, fostering empathy, and inspiring awe. Effective creators balance their vision with the audience's emotional landscape, ensuring that their stories leave a lasting impact. The idea is to understand what makes storytelling a powerful tool for filmmakers to engage and inspire their audience. Renowned Indian director Atul Sabharwal is praised for his distinctive storytelling style, which skillfully combines aspects of drama, suspense, and crime. Powder (2010), a highly regarded criminal drama that demonstrated his talent for writing complex and nuanced themes, brought him significant attention. He later directed films like Aurangzeb (2013), an intense crime thriller under Yash Raj Films, and Class of '83 (2020), a Netflix original starring Bobby Deol. His latest project, Berlin (2024), is a spy thriller centered around a deaf-mute protagonist, reflecting his deep interest in nuanced storytelling. Apart from directing, Sabharwal is also a writer, having collaborated with filmmakers like Vikramaditya Motwane on projects such as Jubilee (2023) This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
