Thomas Zimmermann, Pre- ve Protohistorya, Avrupa Etnolojisi ve Klasik Arkeoloji alanındaki çalışmalarını tamamladığı Regensburg Üniversitesi'nden mezun oldu. Doktora projesi için Römisch-Germanische Zentralmuseum Mainz'de, Early Elites Araştırma Kümesi'nin bir parçası olarak hançerli Bakır Çağı mezarlarını teknolojik ve sosyal boyutlarıyla inceliyordu. 2003 yılında doğunun cazibesine yenik düşerek Türkiye'ye taşındı ve şu anda Ankara Bilkent Üniversitesi Arkeoloji Bölümü'nde Doçent olarak atanmaktadır. Çok yönlü araştırma ilgi alanları arasında arkeoloji bilimi, erken dönem metalurji, MÖ 3. binyıl Küçük Asya'da seçkinlerin ortaya çıkışı ve arkeolojik metodoloji tarihi yer alır. Uluslararası hakemli dergilerde çok sayıda makale yayınladı; yüksek lisans ve doktora tezleri monografi olarak yayınlandı (RGZM Katalog ve Monograf Serisi, 2006 ve 2007); Charles Gates ve Jacques Morin'le birlikte "Anadolu'da Kutsal Manzaralar" konferans bildirilerinin ortak editörlüğünü yaptı. İfade özgürlüğü, bireyin kendini ifade etme, düşüncesini açıklama ve taleplerini dile getirme hakkıdır; bu yönüyle tüm diğer hakların temelidir.Ne var ki içinde bulunduğumuz coğrafyada ifade özgürlüğü yeterince içselleştirilememekte ve çoğu zaman sınırlanmaktadır. Bu durum hak arama kültürünü zayıflatmakta ve bireyin toplumsal katılımını engellemektedir. Nevin Yıldız, Selçuk Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi mezunudur ve Ankara, Selçuk ile Hacettepe üniversitelerinde akademisyenlik yapmıştır. Uppsala Üniversitesi’nde misafir araştırmacı olarak bulunmuş, kadın cinselliği ve namus cinayetleri üzerine yazdığı doktora tezi Namusun Halleri adıyla yayımlanmıştır. Yamuk Hakikat ve Bir Ahir Zaman Babil’i: Urfa gibi derleme kitaplarının yanı sıra çeşitli makale ve kitap bölümlerine katkı sunmuştur. Öyküleriyle de dikkat çeken Yıldız, KAOS GL’nin öykü yarışmasında ödül almış ve Dünyanın Kustuğu Yer adlı kitabı İletişim Yayınları tarafından yayımlanmıştır. Nel 2023 è stato considerato dalla Stanford University e da Elsevier tra i Top 2% scientists del mondo nel suo ambito di ricerca. È autore e coautore di più di 300 articoli scientifici su riviste con Impact Factor, di una monografia e di 4 libri È citato e riconosciuto dall’Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) e dal database SCOPUS, con un Hirsh-Index di 60. È editor di molte riviste, tra cui Comprehensive Psychiatry e Current Neuropharmacology. I wanted this talk to bridge the gap between a personal anecdote, and a problem we all face: screen time– the most glorified addiction. I’ll spend some time explaining the subconscious mind and how we don’t even realize the full extent of its trap. While this talk is psychological, I hope it will reshape your approach to addictive tendencies, and maybe it wouldn’t hurt to get that screen time down by an hour in the process! Although I still haven’t committed to a college, I intend to major in biomedical engineering on a Pre-Med track so I can continue dedicating my life to helping people. Hi!
