What 정 (jeong) teaches us about connection | Suah Kim | TEDxChadwick International School
I will explore how I found traces of "정" across cultures and how it speaks to our shared humanity, proving that despite our differences, we are all bound by something universal. Suah will explore "정" (jeong), a uniquely Korean concept that embodies deep emotional bonds, affection, and a sense of connection built through shared experiences over time. Initially, she believed this profound bond was exclusive to her culture. However, during her time in New Zealand, she discovered that even in a different culture where the word doesn’t exist, the same sense of connection could still be felt. In her talk, Suah will share how she found traces of "정" across cultures, revealing our shared humanity and showing that despite our differences, we are all united by something universal.
