20 yılı aşkın süredir yoksullukla mücadele eden Hacer Foggo, temel ihtiyaçlara erişemeyen insanların yaşadığı zorlukları ve bu sorunların çocuklar üzerindeki etkisini gözler önüne seriyor. Sulukule’de başlayan mücadele hikayesi, Türkiye'nin ilk kentsel dönüşüm projesinin gerçekleştiği, 1000 yıllık Roman mahallesinde, yerinden yurdundan edilme tehlikesi yaşayan insanlarla dayanışma içinde kurulan merkezlere kadar uzanıyor. Pandemi döneminde başlattığı “Evden Değiştir” kampanyasıyla, mahallelerde dayanışmayı güçlendiren Foggo, oyuncak kütüphanesi ve evde kütüphane gibi projelerle çocukların hayallerine erişmesine destek olmayı amaçlıyor. Türkiye’deki çocuk yoksulluğunun istatistiklere nasıl yansıdığını ve bu istatistiklerin arkasında gerçek hikayeler olduğunu vurguluyor.Hacer Foggo, 4 Aralık 1967'de Tokat’ın Zile ilçesinde doğdu. Eskişehir Anadolu Üniversitesi Sosyal Hizmet bölümü mezunu olan Foggo, 15 yıl boyunca gazeteci olarak çalışarak insan hakları ve kent yoksulluğu üzerine yazılar kaleme aldı. Bu süreçte yoksulluğun görünmeyen yüzlerini anlatan haberleriyle toplumsal farkındalık yaratmaya öncülük etti. Foggo, 2016 yılında, ekonomik zorluklar nedeniyle eğitim hayatı sekteye uğrayan çocuklara destek olmak için Çimenev Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi’ni kurdu. 2020’de ise yoksulluk döngüsünü kırmak için dayanışmayı merkeze alan Derin Yoksulluk Ağı’nın kurucuları arasında yer aldı.“Askıda Hayatlar – Yoksulluk Günlükleri” kitabının yazarı olan Foggo, sosyal adalet ve eşitlik için verdiği mücadeleyle dikkat çekti. 2015’te Ashoka Fellow olarak seçildi, 2021’de Wow Dünya Kadınlar Festivali lider kadınlarından biri olarak tanındı, 2022’de SES Yılın Kadınları ve Çağdaş Gazeteciler Derneği Uğur Mumcu Dayanışma Ödülü’nü, 2023’te ise Dil Derneği Onur Ödülü’nü aldı. With a Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham, he has advanced research in drug targeting and delivery using polymer nanotechnologies. His pioneering work in real-time imaging of gold nanoparticles’ effects on DNA and RNA at the atomic level could revolutionize cancer and viral therapies. Dr. Abdelhady’s expertise in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) has opened new avenues for treating diseases at the molecular scale. Comedian/warden Mike Seville takes the prison stage for the third time to regale us with more hysterical tales of his family. Mike Seville began his career with the Virginia Department of Corrections in 1995 as a Corrections Officer at Nottoway Correctional Center. During his time at Nottoway, he held the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Institutional Training Officer, and Chief of Housing & Programs. In 2018, Mr. Seville was promoted to Assistant Warden at Haynesville Correctional Center. In 2020, he was promoted to Superintendent at Haynesville Correctional Unit 17 before transferring to Sussex I State Prison in 2021. In May 2022, Mr. Seville was promoted to Warden at Haynesville Correctional Center before transferring to Green Rock Correctional Center as Warden in November 2022. Mr. Seville has served as a trainer at the Academy for Staff Development and Statewide Evidence-Based Practices Manager at Headquarters. Mr. Seville has most recently been tasked with transitioning Lawrenceville Correctional Center from a privately operated prison to a Virginia Department of Corrections-operated facility.
