While studying at the Australian National University, she was the only Indian girl in her cohort—a milestone that sparked a powerful epiphany about her identity and purpose. Determined to drive meaningful change, Sanjoli extended her activism beyond personal growth. She now leads Sarthi, an NGO that mobilizes youth to champion social causes, and co-founded Sushiksha, a free mobile school in rural Haryana dedicated to providing holistic education for underprivileged children. Sanjoli Banerjee, 26, is a multi-award winning activist and changemaker who started her changemaking journey at the age of 5. She runs a nonprofit called Sarthi across 5 cities of India along with her activist sister, Ananya. She is a champion of education and the Founder of free weekend schools 'Sushiksha'. Sanjoli envisions an aware and well-informed society and her contribution spans three countries- India, Australia and the UK- where she has also studied. Ms Banerjee has been recognised as one of the 75 inspiring women from India & the UK by British Dy High Commission, Chandigarh; by United Nations, King Charles Government, the Diana Award, Ministry of Youth Affairs, India and she is the iny Indian to have sat in the Australian Federal Parliament for a day as a Senator. A graduate in International Security Studies and postgraduate in Social Work & Policy, Sanjoli is currently working as an educator and entrepreneur. Özgentürk started his career as a reporter in Günaydın Newspaper’s Izmir office and continued his career in Sabah Newspaper in Istanbul. During his journalism studies, he traveled all over Anatolia, observed many political leaders and political events and wrote interviews. He was a war reporter in Romania, Abkhazia and during the Gulf War. We first heard his name as a journalist. He started writing columns in Sabah Newspaper in 1990 and his interviews made a splash. He would write interesting portraits and interviews on the page reserved for him in Sabah Newspaper. His columns were collected into books over the years under the titles Bir Yudum İnsan, Unutulmayanlar, Yıllar and Yüzler.
