The Faith in Our Mind | Foram Shah | TEDxGateway
“The Faith in Our Mind” explores the fearless, dream-driven persona within us all - the one who defies logic, embraces uncertainty, and reminds us that life isn’t about predictions but about possibilities. Through poetic introspection, it celebrates the courage to live authentically and let go of control. A story of creation, connection, and quiet rebellion. Foram Shah is a spoken word artist and the co-founder of Spill Media LLP, one of India's largest and most loved art collectives. Her writing revolves around existential-realism and her poetry is featured across the country through performances and workshops. She holds an infectious belief in her ‘access for all’ ideology and aims to work in spaces that reflect that. - 8:58How to prevent the robot apocalypse | Oluwami (Wami) Dosunmu-Ogunbi | TEDxDetroitImagine a world where robots, once created to serve humanity, have turned against us—not out of malice, but because of the biases we unknowingly built into them. It sounds like science fiction, but the reality is that we are already on the path to such a world. How do we change course? The answer is surprisingly simple. "Oluwami ""Wami"" Dosunmu-Ogunbi, PhD, is a trailblazer as the first Black woman to earn a PhD in Robotics from the University of Michigan. Her research focus is in robot control and engineering education.Navigating academia as a person at the intersection of numerous identities, Wami faced many challenges, including being expelled from her first PhD program. However, with the unwavering support of mentors, she overcame systemic barriers and made history. Wami is committed to paving the way for future generations, demonstrating that while she may be the first, she certainly won't be the last!
