What Losing My Legs Taught Me About Winning | Chitrasen Sahu | TEDxDantewada

Double amputee mountaineer Chitrasen Sahu redefines resilience by conquering some of the world’s highest peaks. He shows why courage and determination are essential to breaking stereotypes and scaling new heights—both on the mountains and in life. Chitrasen Sahu, known as the “Half Human Robo,” is a para-mountaineer, national wheelchair basketball player, and disability rights activist. After losing both legs in a train accident, he became India’s first double amputee to scale Mount Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, and Kosciuszko. Through his initiative, Mission Inclusion, he empowers people with disabilities, fights for accessibility and representation, and has even driven policy change—helping amputees gain the right to drive. His journey is an inspiring testament to resilience and the human spirit. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
