The Power of Sketchnoting | Long Bien Pham Hoang | TEDxNguyen Sieu Primary School

Long Bien, a professor at Vietnam National University - University of Languages & International Studies (VNU-ULIS), shares her unexpected journey into the world of sketchnoting. Despite years of academic experience and holding a master’s degree, it wasn’t until 2019 when she took a sketchnoting course that she discovered a whole new way to engage with learning. In her talk, she explains how combining visuals with notes transformed how she processes information, making ideas more memorable, fun, and deeply personal. Sketchnoting didn’t just help her as a teacher, but reignited her joy as a lifelong learner. Her experience reminds us that even in a tech-driven age, creativity on paper can be just as powerful as anything on a screen. With enthusiasm and insight, she invites the audience to explore how thinking visually can open new doors for expression, understanding, and connection, pushing us beyond the screen and into a more colorful, connected way of learning. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
