MBTI is one of the most popular personality tests, widely used by individuals and companies. However, does a four-letter word represent you as much as you think it does? The inaccuracies of the MBTI may reflect a deeper issue than you expected. The forced dichotomies and problematic categories cause the MBTI to be inaccurate. However, despite this unreliability, many of us still feel represented by these types. The need to put a false label onto ourselves is not unique to the MBTI; instead, it is mirrored in many aspects of our lives. Cindy is a year 10 student at Wycombe Abbey with interests in sciences and psychology. As an ENFP, she spends a lot of time exploring personality tests like the MBTI and is particularly intrigued by how we are impacted and influenced by them. Poverty is a problem that has plagued our world for centuries, yet it is also a problem that remains largely unsolved. Microcredit, a strategy that has emerged in recent decades, offers an innovative solution to this problem. This talk explores the origins of microcredit, its successes as well as the challenges it has faced and its future potential to help millions break the generational cycle of poverty. Tia is a Year 13 student studying Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Computer Science at A-Level. She was first introduced to microcredit when she spoke to women in her local village market in India who were recipients of microloans and had used these to lift themselves out of poverty. Since then, she developed a deep interest in modern economic tools that can help combat global issues like poverty and wealth inequality. The talk begins with questions from the future generation: “What has happened to the planet? Why didn’t you save it for us? Were you really that selfish?” Anvesha then dives into the idea that humans, while selfish, might have missed one crucial thing - saving nature isn’t a favor we do for others; it’s a lifeline we toss to ourselves. With the help of Hindu philosophies and a concept from Quantum physics, she suggests that God may be weaving the grand illusion of separation between living beings and the universe. But here’s the reality: we’re all siblings under Mother Nature’s care, declaring our bond with every breath we take. Anvesha flips the narrative, urging the audience to see humans not as inhabitants of Earth but as pieces of it. Our bodies are built from the same elements as rivers, mountains, and stars. To save nature, she concludes, is to save ourselves - it’s not just survival; it’s reclaiming our identity as nature’s own. Anvesha Rishi is a 17 year old happy teenager, studying in grade 11 of Choithram School North Campus and is a member of the school's TEDEd Club. The sound of flowing water, soft grass brushing against her feet, and a playful dog in a wide meadow is how she pictures her happy place. Three things she immensely cares about are: her friends, her womanhood and mother Earth. She is a gold awardee at Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition and has won a couple of awards from the Ministry of Education, China for her skills at writing and debating.
