I’m Arpita Gupta, and I’m someone who thrives on exploring new challenges and opportunities. As an international chess player and a DELF French diploma holder, I’ve learned the value of discipline and persistence in everything I do. When I’m not studying or working towards my goals, I love running, dancing, playing the guitar, and reading books; they help me stay grounded and inspired. I’m incredibly excited to be speaking at TEDx Youth, where I’ll be sharing my insights on cognitive biases and how they shape the way we think and act. Public speaking is something I once found daunting, but stepping out of my comfort zone has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and now it’s one of my biggest passions In the future, I dream of becoming a successful businesswoman, combining my passion for learning and leadership to create something meaningful. - 14:03ALM E HAWA | Haider Aziz | TEDxAllama Iqbal Medical CollegeAlm-e-Hawa is a powerful and emotionally charged drama that delves deep into the oppressive traditions of the feudal Choudhary culture, where women are silenced, suppressed, and treated as mere possessions. Through intense storytelling and evocative performances, the play sheds light on the cruelty and injustice faced by women trapped in a patriarchal system. At the heart of the narrative is the Choudhary’s wife—voiceless not only by tradition but also by a physical inability to speak. Yet, she becomes the silent observer of the pain and subjugation around her. As the drama unfolds, her silence grows louder than words, until she breaks free from the chains of both societal and physical silence. In a soul-stirring finale, the drama concludes with a beautiful mime—her first expression after gaining her voice through surgery. This silent yet powerful performance symbolizes the breaking of centuries-old barriers, a woman’s reclaiming of identity, and the beginning of a new era where voices once muted rise to be heard. Syed Haider Aziz, a second-year MBBS student and passionate social entrepreneur, is the founder of Isaar Foundation, an NGO dedicated to improving the living standards of underprivileged communities. Despite his young age, Haider has led impactful initiatives that focus on humanitarian aid, education, and healthcare, demonstrating his commitment to social justice and community welfare. At TEDxAIMC, he will discuss the challenges of balancing medical studies with social entrepreneurship, and how breaking barriers through grassroots activism can drive meaningful change in society. His journey is an inspiring example of how young leaders can make a profound difference.
