Solving Stratification: Opening Opportunities in Math Education | Kristian Edosomwan | TEDxTAMU

Kristian Edosomwan coined the term "opportunity stratification" to explain students' different levels of access to opportunities such as advanced mathematics. Kristian Edosomwan is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture (TLAC) at Texas A&M University with an emphasis in Multicultural Education. She is a critical quantitative scholar who researches educational inequities of students from marginalized and minoritized backgrounds. Specifically, her research and publications often center on advanced K-12 coursework, academic tracking, and discipline as it relates to student outcomes. She has published in journals such as Race, Ethnicity and Education, School Science and Mathematics, and the Journal of Education.
