Tackling hierarchy beyond the corporate ladder | Chanchal Bansal | TEDxIIMAhmedabad

What if the most powerful thing you can do in a room is just to be yourself? In this bold and deeply personal talk, the speaker takes us through her journey across industries and roles, challenging corporate norms and calling out the “intellectual caste system” that keeps many from thriving. With sharp insight and raw honesty, she reminds us that purpose, courage, and authenticity are not just buzzwords—they’re acts of quiet rebellion. Chanchal brings nearly two decades of diverse corporate experience across Google, BCG, and Unilever. At Google, she leads a 180-member team driving strategy and revenue for a $30Bn+ mid-corporate business. Her career spans consulting, finance, and FMCG, with deep expertise in transformation, growth strategy, and operational excellence. An IIT-BHU Computer Science graduate and IIM Bangalore MBA, Chanchal blends technical acumen with strategic insight. Outside work, she’s passionate about meditation, Ashtanga yoga, guest lecturing, and advocating for elderly care in India. She lives in Gurgaon with her husband, Prageet—a professor at MDI—and their 11-year-old son. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
