Breaking the Silence: How I Found Confidence in My Voice | Tyler Griffin | TEDxProvidence

Tyler Griffin shares his journey of overcoming a speech impediment that made speaking, especially public speaking, a major fear throughout his childhood. He recounts a pivotal experience at age 11 when he joined his father at a business trade show, initially terrified to pitch but eventually finding the courage to speak to investors. Through this experience, Tyler realized that mistakes were not as disastrous as he feared, helping him build lasting confidence in his voice despite ongoing challenges. Tyler Griffin is a student leader, innovator, and aspiring sales professional studying Innovation and Leadership Management at Bryant University. Born with a speech impediment, Tyler has turned this challenge into a source of strength, delivering speeches and leading initiatives that inspire others. As President of the Bryant CEO Club, Tyler has launched impactful programs and pitch competitions like G-Pitch, empowering students to tackle real-world challenges. With experience in sales competitions, sales internships, and speaking at events like the CEO Global Conference, Tyler demonstrates that obstacles can fuel bold leadership and meaningful change. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
