What if aging could be slowed by repairing the very damage written into our DNA? In this talk, Dr. Yu Chen reveals how declining DNA repair systems drive aging and age-related diseases, and how scientists are exploring ways to boost these repair mechanisms — aiming not just to extend lifespan, but to improve the quality of life as we age. Dr. Chen is assistant professor and graduate advisor at the School of Life Sciences and Technology, Tongji University. Dr. Chen leads three national and provincial-level research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Program. His research focuses on uncovering the regulatory mechanisms of aging and longevity from the perspective of genome stability, while developing new strategies to combat aging, age-related diseases, and extend healthy lifespan.
