Luis Diego plantea el enorme daño que las redes sociales han causado en la salud mental de niños y adolecentes. Propone como corregir el problema Obtuvo su título de Dr. en Medicina y Cirugía en la Universidad de Costa Rica; posteriormente se trasladó a Boston en donde hizo su residencia en Psiquiatría General y una subespecialidad en Psiquiatría de Niños y Adolescentes; simultáneamente, obtuvo un grado de maestría en Salud Pública, con énfasis en epidemiología de las enfermedades mentales. Fue director del Departamento de Psiquiatría y Psicología del Hospital Nacional de Niños; ha sido presidente de la Junta Administrativa de la Fundación PANIAMOR, de la cual es aún miembro de su Junta. Fue fundador de la Asociación Costarricense para el Déficit de Atención y de la Asociación de Síndrome de Tourette. Ha publicado más de 30 artículos en revistas científicas y ha contribuido con capítulos para libros sobre temas de salud mental en niños y adolescentes. Es director de la Clínica Herrera Amighetti del Hospital Metropolitano y miembro de Número de la Academia Nacional de Medicina.
