Fizza Hasan is the founder and artistic director of Theatre Wallay, a theatre company based in Islamabad, Pakistan and active since 2005.
As Artistic Director, Fizza manages all the company’s major projects; she provides leadership and guidance, deals with proposal and report writing and handles the programming, administration and finances of all big productions. She also works on establishing collaborations with sponsors and other organizations. Over the years she has directed numerous plays for the company, and also occasionally acts. Fizza is an ISPA Global Fellow for 2024. By profession a teacher of English Literature and French, and a teacher trainer, Fizza has also been teaching in Islamabad for more than 25 years now, and has extensive experience in teacher training. She is also currently the lead content creator for the Beaj Education English language learning app. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
