How to take Zamzam water home through Saudi airports
Saudi Gazette reportMAKKAH —
Pilgrims traveling through Saudi Arabia’s airports can easily carry Zamzam water home by following simple official procedures, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. To ensure a smooth and safe experience, the ministry advised that pilgrims must purchase Zamzam bottles from authorized sales points located at the airport.
Once purchased, the bottles should be placed on specially designated conveyor belts for handling — and must not be packed in checked luggage.
Each pilgrim is allowed to take only one bottle, and must present a valid Umrah visa or a permit via the Nusuk app to complete the process.
Zamzam water, sourced from the sacred well near the Kaaba in Makkah, holds deep spiritual significance for Muslims. The guidelines aim to streamline procedures and preserve the sanctity and quality of the water during transport, while ensuring safety and compliance with airport regulations.
