Saudi ambassador meets with UN envoy to Syria

DAMASCUS — Saudi Ambassador to Syria Dr. Faisal Al-Majfal received the Deputy Special Envoy of the United Nations in Syria, Najad Rushdi, at the Saudi Embassy in Damascus and discussed topics of common interest.
The meeting comes within the framework of discussing steps to support the Syrian people and provide them with means of aid and support at this important stage in their history, and was in line wit the statement of Riyadh meetings on Syria.
Riyadh hosted a ministerial meeting on Syria that stressed addressing any challenges or sources of concern for various parties through dialogue and providing support, advice and counsel in a manner that respects Syria’s independence and sovereignty.
The meeting provided an opportunity to consider that the future of Syria is the concern of the Syrians, stressing their support for the choices of the Syrian people and respect for their will.
