Riyadh police arrest female expat for selling fake Hajj permits online

Police in the Riyadh region have arrested an Egyptian resident for defrauding individuals by claiming she could issue permits for Hajj and entry into Makkah through social media platforms, authorities said Saturday.The suspect was taken into custody, and legal procedures were initiated before she was referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated that a fine of up to SR20,000 will be imposed on any individual holding a visit visa who enters or attempts to enter Makkah or the holy sites, or remains there without authorization, from the 1st of Dhul Qa’dah until the end of the 14th day of Dhul Hijjah.
In addition, violators from among residents will be deported and banned from returning to the Kingdom for ten years.
The Ministry urged all residents and visitors to comply with Hajj regulations, which are designed to safeguard the security and safety of pilgrims. Authorities also encouraged the public to report violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 in other areas of the Kingdom.
