Saudi Gazette report
BOLOGNA — Saudi Arabia launched its national pavilion at the Bologna International Book Fair 2025, which runs from March 31 to April 3 at the Bologna Fiere Exhibition Center in Italy.
The pavilion is organized by the Commission for Literature, Publishing and Translation.
Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Wasil, CEO of the Literature Authority, said the Kingdom’s participation aims to showcase several initiatives designed to advance the publishing sector and enhance cultural engagement. These efforts focus on empowering Saudi publishers and literary agents to engage globally, highlighting the country's rich intellectual heritage and cultural identity.
“The exhibition offers an important opportunity for Saudi publishers to connect and exchange ideas with their global counterparts,” Dr. Al-Wasil noted.
The Saudi pavilion hosts several cultural institutions, including the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Fahd National Library, and the Saudi Publishing Association. Together, they present a collective front in promoting Saudi literature, translation efforts, and the broader cultural landscape.
