How Academic Inflation is Killing Passion | Joanna Jiang | TEDxDVHS

How does our modern ideal workaholic culture seep into our daily life?Joanna is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. Aside from being a student, Joanna is an artist, a part-time musician, and a professional learner. She loves learning new things and is curious to delve deeper into the world around her and how our society works. Joanna loves history, science, and everything in between. She's passionate about social sciences, and wants to explore how art and media/culture is connected to our daily lives - from our academic achievements to the way we view the world. Outside of academics, Joanna likes staying active as part of Dougherty Valley's women's lacrosse team, and in her free time she enjoys playing guitar. In her TEDx speech, Joanna hopes to encourage listeners to challenge their thinking, to be open to change and rewire their perspectives on the world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
