Life Happened. So I Happened Louder | Lakshay Nagpal | TEDxIIM Raipur

What do you do when cancer strikes not once, but four times and each time, you're back stronger? In this unflinching, funny, and heart-moving TEDx talk, Lakshay Nagpal shares his astonishing odyssey: from pursuing a Limca record and cracking CAT, to having a rare leg amputation (rotationplasty), surviving grueling cycles of chemotherapy, and getting the job at Microsoft of his dreams while creating a support network for other cancer warriors.Lakshay interlaces vulnerability and humor as he shares going through awkward glares, physical agony, and the quiet resilience it requires to opt for "Oops" rather than "What if." With each turn in his narrative, he is reminded that resilience isn't what happens to you, but what you do after. Whether you are fighting disease, pursuing grand dreams, or just in need of a reason to have faith in second (or fourth) chances, this speech is your invitation to live passionately, laugh loudly, and never, ever let a diagnosis dictate your destiny. A Delhi Technological University and IIM Calcutta graduate, Mr. Lakshay has been through and survived more than most can imagine. Diagnosed with cancer not once but four times, he endured multiple surgeries, rounds of chemotherapy, and even a limb amputation. However, instead of being defined by tragedy, he defined what's possible. His own life is a strong testament to the human spirit. From solo travel in India, to earning a Limca Book of Records listing, to getting a job at Microsoft, Mr. Lakshay has converted pain into purpose and setbacks into stepping stones. His dedication to leaving a positive mark doesn't end there—he is also the founder of an NGO dedicated to enabling others who are suffering from life-threatening diseases. His story isn’t just about survival—it’s about thriving against all odds, embracing life fully, and inspiring others to push beyond limits. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
