The Voice in your head: Friend or Foe | Roque & Cosme Lavín Delgado | TEDxYouth@ASM

In this talk, Roque and Cosme explore the powerful role of self-talk in performance and mindset. Drawing lessons from years of competitive golf, they reveal how inner dialogue can either sabotage or elevate us during high-pressure moments. The brothers offer insights and strategies for transforming the inner critic into an inner coach—lessons that apply far beyond the golf course. Brothers Roque and Cosme Lavín Delgado are 9th and 10th-grade students with a strong passion for golf, academics, and personal growth. Both are highly competitive athletes who have played golf at national and international levels. Through years of experience on the course, they’ve come to realize that success in golf—and life—relies more on mental strength than technical skill. Their commitment to excellence, combined with a shared competitive spirit, fuels their desire to improve constantly. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
