Embracing the Process: The Art of Not Knowing | Danny Bracken | TEDxCMU

Creativity is rarely a straight path, and Mattress Factory thrives on this spirit of exploration. Throughout its nearly fifty-year history, this artist-centered museum has supported bold, site-specific art that transforms big ideas into tangible forms. In this talk, Danny Bracken will dive into the evolution of the museum and how his own unconventional creative and professional journey intersects with this pioneering institution. Danny Bracken is an artist, musician, and creative producer, currently working as Director of Exhibitions at the Mattress Factory, an artist-founded and artist-centered museum, international residency program and renowned producer of art in Pittsburgh, US. He has performed extensively throughout the world, composed music for Sundance Film Festival projects, and exhibited throughout Europe and the US. Recently, his work has shifted into the curatorial field, with a focus on site-specific installation, multidisciplinary practices, and artistic exchange. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
