" Dr. Myriam El Khoury-Malhame is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology and Education at the Lebanese American UniversityShe strongly advocates the bi-directional connections between physical and mental health. She has combined both approaches in her trainings as a licensed clinical psychologist and a cognitive neuroscientist.Her research focuses on the brain basis of resilience and growth amidst ongoing accumulating traumas. She also works on collective and individual protective factors, such as sleep, attitude of gratitude, a sense of community and spirituality.She has recently won the L’Oreal-UNESCO for women in science Award in the Levant region.She is the mother of 3 kids (with 2 adolescent girls) and a dog and a firm advocate of women wellness, starting with mental health.
