After graduating from Newcastle University in 2002 aged 22, she started work as a medical doctor in the North East of England before returning to Edinburgh in 200. Specialising in General Practice, she worked in both NHS and Private Practice for 20 years. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013 and following this, she has become passionate about brain health and understanding more about how we can live longer, happier lives. After studying Functional Medicine with the US based Institute of Functional Medicine and Sleep Medicine from Edinburgh University, she founded Noggin The Brain People. A keen writer since childhood, her self-narrated memoir “Doctor, Interrupted- from Doctor to Patient and Back Again” was published October 2024. Clara’s second book “Heads Up-How to look after your brain so it will look after you”, will be published in the UK and US in May 2025. Thomas Friebe, one of Germany’s most recognisable voices, once struggled with a fear of the microphone, and now empowers others to speak freely and confidently. In his talk, he reveals how overcoming fear unlocks our true potential, and why doing so is not just a right, but a responsibility. Thomas Friebe is a father of four, entrepreneur, best-selling author, expert on convincing performance and, as a voice actor, one of the most heard voices on German television. Since he suffered from microphone fear at the beginning of his career as a young radio journalist and was able to successfully overcome this, he has made it his mission to free people with the same challenges from these blockages and fears. "Only then", says Thomas, "can we develop our full potential and this", he is convinced, "is not only our right, but also our duty". Over the last twelve years Thomas has helped hundreds of customers overcome their fear of speaking. Now driving for Mercedes-AMG, he joins Winward Racing for the GT World Challenge Endurance Campaign and Good Speed Racing in GT Open, with aspirations to conquer legendary endurance races like Le Mans and Daytona.
