Preethi, a former captain of the Tamil Nadu women's Under-19 cricket team, turned personal tragedy into a mission for social impact after an accident left her quadriplegic. She co-founded Soulfree, a nonprofit supporting spinal cord injury survivors through rehabilitation and skill training, promoting independence and inclusivity. Her journey highlights how resilience can transform adversity into meaningful change, urging us to empower ourselves and others. At the age of 18, Preethi, a former captain of the Tamil Nadu women's cricket team's Under-19 squad, guided her state to the national championships in 1997. After an accident left her quadriplegic, her life took an unexpected turn, but she turned the hardship into a purpose. She has been bringing about change by spreading awareness and providing support to survivors throughout India as the co-founder of 'Soulfree', a nonprofit devoted to the restoration, rehabilitation, and reintegration of people with spinal cord injuries. She will discuss how she overcame personal obstacles to empower others and promote an inclusive society in her talk, which will highlight her inspirational resilience story.
