Tales of Fear and Horror in the Era of TikTok and A.I | Julius Cruz Gregorio | TEDxMHPNHS Youth

In his talk, he will explore how TikTok and A.I. generation perceives ghost stories, along with their elements, albularyo, and other narratives featuring lamang lupa at nilalang ng dilim.What do fear, horror, and dread signify in society, and what purposes do they serve? What does this generation find terrifying? Why is experiencing fear necessary? What drives our fear, and who or what are we afraid of? Who or what instills fear, and which individuals are now unafraid? Julius Cruz Gregorio earned a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Bulacan State University in 2016. That same year, he was a fellow at the first Multigenre National Writer’s Workshop in Mulanay, Quezon. He subsequently served as the vice president of Lunduyan ng mga Bulakenyong Artista at Manunulat (LAMBAT), an organization of Bulacan artists and writers that promotes art, particularly literature in the province.Julius is also known for his work in performance poetry, having presented at the Performatura Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Additionally, he works as an English to Tagalog subtitle translator for platforms like Netflix and Disney+, and writes Tagalog aswang stories online. Despite his numerous interests and pursuits, he continually goes back to his first passion: writing and performing poetry.
