Spine Health Unlocked with the Key D3 | Prof Dr S Bakhtiar Choudhary | TEDxVJIT

The speaker emphasizes his journey as a doctor, shaped by his army family background, which spans over 30 years of dedication. The key to his approach lies in understanding the importance of Vitamin D and its impact on spinal health. He identified two critical observations: First, vitamin D insufficiency can cause a bent spine in young individuals, a condition typically seen in adults over 30. Vitamin D, which comes primarily from sunlight (80%) and diet (20%), plays a crucial role in preventing conditions like frozen shoulder syndrome and joint stiffness. Second, he emphasized the importance of maintaining the center of gravity while lifting arms to protect the spine. He advises a balanced regional diet, and sufficient sunlight exposure to avoid surgery and promote overall well-being. Prof. Major Dr. S. Bakhtiar Choudhary (Retd.) is a renowned war veteran and sports medicine specialist with over 40 years of experience, having served both the Indian Army and Apollo Hospitals for a decade each. He has been a visiting faculty member at top institutions, training IPS, IAS, and IRS officers, and advising MNCs and universities. A pioneer in occupational health, he identified and described conditions such as Straight Spine Syndrome and Urban Neck Syndrome. His groundbreaking research has saved thousands from undergoing spinal surgeries. Dr. Choudhary has made significant contributions to sports medicine, advising international athletes, and has been an active promoter of environmental conservation. Additionally, he is a martial artist, an award-winning researcher, an author, and a passionate advocate for ecological education.
