Breaking free from the stereotype that women cannot be in STEM. Kristine is a registered nutritionist-dietitian from the Philippines. She is an analog astronaut for the HI-SEAS or the Hawai'i Space Exploration Analog and Simulation. She was part of the Space Generation Advisory Council as an Executive Secretary for 4 years and is still active in different project groups and task forces of the organization. She is a member of a working group of the International Astronomical Union for Diversity and Inclusion with colleagues from Europe, the Middle East and part of the founding members of the Astronaut Nutrition in Isolated Confined Extreme Environments (ANICE). She has done small studies on space nutrition for analog missions like Asclepios, CHILL-ICE and LunAres with the goal of quantifying the impact of diet and nutrition before, during and after the mission on astronaut physiology and psychology.
