Your Only Competition is Yourself | Ceylin Deniz | TEDxYouth@FMVErenköyIşık
Ceylin Deniz reflected on moments when she felt out of place in rooms full of confident, sharp individuals. She shared how comparing herself to others made her feel like she didn’t belong and held her back from growing. Over time, she realized that this mindset was limiting her progress. Instead of measuring herself against others, she decided to focus on her own journey. Her message was clear and inspiring: the only person you need to be better than is who you were yesterday. Her story encouraged self-acceptance and personal growth through inner reflection. I'm an 11th grade IBDP student who enjoys expressing creativity through art and music. I love drawing, playing the guitar, and discovering new music. I'm also the president of my school's Model United Nations (MUN) club, where I get to combine my interests in global issues and leadership. Before diving into these passions, I spent years as a competitive swimmer, building discipline and a strong work ethic that still shape who I am today.
