When you have the ability to wisely organize your talents, it's possible to generate necessary contributions and help for society. He holds degrees in Economics and an MBA from Tecnológico de Monterrey and the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Master’s in Public Policy from ITAM and an AD-2 from IPADE.With over 28 years of experience in both public and private sectors, he advises family businesses and co-founded Martínez Hiarmes Consultores.In finance, he was General Director of Financiera Rural, advisor to the Treasury Undersecretary, and Undersecretary of Revenues in Coahuila. In the economic sphere, he served as Federal Delegate of the Ministry of Economy and led the Colegio de Economistas de Coahuila.He’s also taught at Tecnológico de Monterrey and UAdeC. Socially, he directed DIF Coahuila and held roles in SEDESOL and Housing. Politically, he advised the Presidency, was a legislator, led Fundación Colosio Coahuila, and served as Secretary of Inclusion and Social Development of Coahuila. In his speech, Tom used the trolley problem to reveal the profound contradiction between law and human nature: when utilitarianism requires "sacrificing the minority to save the majority", the judicial system often judges legitimate defenders with strict standards, forcing victims to accurately calculate the strength of defense in critical moments, just like requiring drivers to analyze physics formulas in an instant. Through the "perfect circle" paradox, he explained that although absolute justice is unattainable, it guides the direction of civilization - from the death of Socrates to modern judicial loopholes, it is the defects that drive humans to improve their moral standards. At the end of the speech, Tom called on society to accept the imperfections of the law so that every citizen can repair the "circle" of justice.
