Lighting the Path: Empowering the Visually Impaired | Tiffany Brar | TEDxYouth@WBS

Ms. Tiffany Brar shares her inspiring journey of turning personal blindness into a powerful mission to uplift the visually impaired through education, skill-building, and advocacy for inclusivity. Tiffany Brar, a visionary social activist, became blind six months after birth due to oxygen toxicity. Undeterred, she founded the Jyothirgamaya Foundation in 2012, a non-profit organization that empowers visually impaired individuals through life skills training. Fluent in multiple languages, Tiffany's innovative approach includes a mobile school for the blind, ensuring education reaches those unable to attend traditional institutions. Her dedication has earned her numerous accolades, including the National Award for Best Role Model from the President of India and the Nari Shakti Puraskar, the highest civilian honor for women in India. Tiffany's relentless advocacy continues to inspire and transform lives, promoting inclusivity and accessibility for all. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
