In a profoundly inspiring TED Talk themed "Passion to Purpose," IRS officer Ms. Ummul Kher shared her extraordinary journey of resilience, grit, and determination. Born with a fragile bone disorder, disowned by her parents, and raised in a Delhi slum, Ummul defied all odds to clear the UPSC Civil Services exam in her very first attempt, securing an All India Rank of 420. Her story moved students deeply, proving that no obstacle is too great when fueled by passion and purpose. With unwavering spirit, she reminded the audience that true strength lies in rising every time life knocks you down. IAS officer who grew up in a Delhi slum and battled a severe bone disorder that led to 16 fractures and 8 surgeries, overcame immense adversity, to achieve her dream of joining the civil services.
