Defying the limitations of entrepreneurship | Daniela Tenorio Mc Dowell | TEDxYouth@JFKQRO

It is common for young people, including myself, to feel limited by our age. To feel like things are not possible because we are too young. Well, I come to contradict all of those outrageous beliefs. I have always been interested in selling things no matter how or what. Managing small businesses throughout the years has taught me that age is just a number, instead of limiting you it would give you a head start. It can be intimidating to start your own business or imagine yourself as a successful entrepreneur because it is not common and it is a common misconception that when you are young you are irresponsible, immature, and naive. Well, good news you can be a business owner at any age it just requires dedication and believing in yourself. I have already gone through all the stages of doubt and fear but I have managed a business since I was in freshman year of high school. It has come with difficult situations that I have needed to overcome and have developed many new skills. Managing a business not only rewards you economically but also with experience. Going through complicated situations and experiencing things is the best way to learn and evolve. All of these points will be connected to my personal experience which justifies how possible it is for people my age to be successful in managing a business. Also I will address how listening to the world's needs and your interest equals success. For example, considering the environmental current needs of the world can help develop a great business idea combined with something you are interested in. Nowadays, everyone wants to be successful and earn money but it is key that your purpose and goals are well determined so you don't get lost on the way. I am Daniela Tenorio, a 12th grade student. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
